Sub: 125 years celebration of NUSI all over India
New logo of NUSI launched
NUSI had its 100 years celebrations in 1996. This year 2021, NUSI is proudly celebrating 125 years of trust and service and championing the cause of seafarers over the last more 125 years.
National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) was given a proper structure of a trade union by NUSI Founder Mohamed Ebrahim Serang who is rightly called the “Father of the Indian Seafarers Movement”. NUSI has always fought against exploitation of seafarers. It has fought for the rights, wellbeing and social justice of seafarers. NUSI activities are not just for the seafarers but also extend to their family members.
Every year we celebrate the birthday of “NUSI Founder Mohamed Ebrahim Serang” of on 9th May. We also celebrate “Seafarers Unity Day” on 6th November. These are paid holidays on all NUSI agreements on Indian flag and foreign flag ships. The past and present leadership, Office Bearers, Executive Committee members, branch representatives, staff members and our seafarers and their families have individually and collectively contributed to the success of NUSI. It is because of this trust due to which NUSI has gained respect, credibility nationally and internationally. There are many NUSI events happening throughout the year 2021, all over India, to proudly celebrate the 125 years of NUSI.
On the occasion of the 125 years celebration NUSI is officially announcing the new NUSI logo:
NUSI is committed in the service for the benefit of all ranks of our seafarers and their families in particular and the shipping industry in general. Make NUSI more stronger by your active participation.
